Pialligo Avenue Fairbairn
National Capital Speedway is situated just a few kilometre's past Canberra Airport on Pialligo Avenue if you are heading towards Queanbeyan.
The track is a club run track and is maintained by a handfull of members and their families whom all dedicate vasts amount of their time on a regular basis.
The track is a very family orientated place with hot food and all types of beverages available for sale on race day, the suprise that I first encountered along with everyone I speak to is the reasonable cost of everything. This is a place where the family can go and not have to spend the household budget to have a great day out, unlike some other sporting events.
The Racing starts at 10am and on average finishes about 3pm cost of admittance is $12.00 for adults and kids under 16 are free, you can browse the pits if you are over 16 yrs old and the cost of the pit pass is a modest $10.
The entire day is full of great speedway action with several division's racing depending on the meeting, if you walk away from a race meeting and can honestly say that you did not have a great day out then in my opinion nothing in life will ever entertain you.
